Est. 1985 · Robert Trent Jones Sr. (with Roger Rulewich)
Why we love this place
We love Apple Rock for its high-ground drama. Robert Trent Jones Sr. claimed the loftiest land at Horseshoe Bay for granite-lined streams and sweeping Lake LBJ views, and the back-to-back par 5s tumbling toward the water are pure Hill Country theater.

About Apple Rock - Horseshoe Bay Resort
Apple Rock is the third of three Robert Trent Jones Sr. courses at Horseshoe Bay Resort on Lake LBJ, opening in 1985 with Roger Rulewich credited alongside Jones; Golf Digest named it Best New Resort Course in America on its debut. The par-72, 6,999-yard layout occupies the highest ground on the property, with dramatic elevation changes, granite-lined stream beds and lake views; the signature stretch is holes 10-12, back-to-back par 5s descending to the water followed by a 179-yard par 3 on the lake. It is open to resort guests and members.
