Linville Ridge is a private mountain club near Linville, with its course originally laid out by George Cobb and built in the early 1980s. At 4,945 feet it is billed as the highest-elevation golf course east of the Mississippi. Bobby Weed gave the course a complete bunker and feature makeover in 2008, which won Golf Inc.'s 2009 Renovation of the Year.
