North Ridge Country Club, about three miles north of Raleigh, was founded in 1967 by Ed Richards. It operates two 18-hole courses — The Lakes (built 1967) and The Oaks (built 1972) — originally designed by Gene Hamm and George Cobb and later updated by John LaFoy and Kris Spence, across nearly 400 acres.
