Why we love this place
We love Oxford Greens for its par 3s alone: a fifty-foot drop on the 2nd, a true Redan on the 13th and a hillside green on the 16th. Mark Mungeam carved a big, old-school-feeling course out of the Naugatuck forest, and it's open to anyone who wants to test their iron game.

About Golf Club At Oxford Greens
The Golf Club at Oxford Greens opened to the public in 2005, carved out of hilly woodland on the west side of the Naugatuck State Forest in Oxford, roughly between Fairfield and New Haven counties. Architect Mark Mungeam routed the course across undulating ground that alternates between forest and open meadow, and the design deliberately nods to the classic architecture of an earlier era while working on a grand scale. Bentgrass covers every surface from tee to green. The par 3s are the headliners: the long 2nd, nicknamed Vista, drops about fifty feet from tee to green past water and sand; the 9th, called Skinny, demands a precise shot into a long and narrow target; the 13th is a Redan modeled on the famous 15th at North Berwick; and the 16th, Fortress, is built into a hillside that tilts from right to left. The club has welcomed daily-fee golfers since the day it opened.
