Est. 1949 · Graham Clark; redesigns by Al Zikorus and William F. Mitchell
Why we love this place
Minnechaug is a quick, quirky nine with a showstopper: the island-green 8th, a short iron over water that may be New England's first. Woods and wetlands keep you honest, the rounds fly by, and the mountain backdrop makes it a charming Glastonbury escape.

About Minnechaug Golf Club
Minnechaug Golf Course sits at the base of Minnechaug Mountain in Glastonbury, reached today by Fairway Crossing. ForeTee's course history dates its first play to 1949 and credits the original design to Graham Clark, with later redesign work by Al Zikorus and William F. Mitchell, although other directories give a 1959 opening. The course was once larger and was reduced to nine holes to make room for a residential development. The present par-34 nine measures roughly 2,450 to 2,650 yards and is best known for the 8th, a 126-yard par 3 played to an island green that the course bills as the first island green in New England and that some consider the first of its kind in the nation. Wooded boundaries and wetlands put a premium on accuracy throughout. Minnechaug operates as a public course with online tee times.
