Why we love this place
Angus Lea is a pocket-sized nine wrapped by water, right on Hillsborough's Main Street, and that is its charm. Walkable, unpretentious and freshly spruced up, with a grill deck over the first tee, it is the perfect place for a quick evening loop or a first round.

About Angus Lea Golf Course
Angus Lea opened as a nine-hole public course in Hillsborough in 1961, according to GolfPass, with the layout credited to Ed Bedell; one European directory gives 1965 instead. The course sits at 126 West Main Street on a peninsula of land with water on both sides, which gives this small, walkable layout much of its character. It plays as a par 33 of about 2,319 yards, rated 31.5 with a slope of 101, making it a comfortable fit for beginners, seniors and anyone looking for a quick nine. The club has also been known as Angus Lea Golf & Tennis Club, and its facilities have included a driving range, putting green, bar and tennis. The operators report that the course underwent major renovations in 2022, when the Main Street Grill & Bar also opened with a wraparound deck overlooking the first tee.
