Why we love this place
Rotella is everything a town muni should be: a real Hal Purdy design over rolling Rockland County hills, well run and fairly priced. The 9th is a par 5 you will remember, and the whole course punches above its municipal label.

About Philip J. Rotella Municipal Golf Course
The Philip J. Rotella golf course is the Town of Haverstraw's municipal course in Thiells, in northern Rockland County. Its story began in the early 1980s, when the town bought part of the former Letchworth Village state property from New York State, and town officials, led by supervisor Philip J. Rotella, decided to turn the land into a public golf course. Architect Hal Purdy designed the course, which opened in the mid-1980s under the name Minisceongo Golf Course. The town later renamed it to honor Rotella, its longtime supervisor. The par-72 layout plays to just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, and its signature hole is the 9th, a demanding par 5. The town still operates the course, with a resident golf professional, lessons and an automated tee-time line for residents and visitors.
