Why we love this place
A neighborhood course with a ballpark backstory and three generations of family care behind it. We love Stadium for its convenient city setting, its welcoming public tee sheet and a new chapter focused on upgrades rather than bulldozers, keeping golf alive in Schenectady.

About Stadium Golf Club
Stadium Golf Club sits on Jackson Avenue in Schenectady beside the site of the city's old minor-league ballpark. According to the Daily Gazette, the club's first course was a small nine-hole layout built next to McNearney Stadium after the minor-league Blue Jays left town in 1957. In 1965 Edmund Hennel bought the property, and his family ran it for about sixty years; today it is an eighteen-hole public course with a driving range, banquet hall and restaurant. In 2021 the family weighed a sale that might have meant redevelopment, but in late 2025 the club was sold to New City Equities, which said it planned upgrades rather than redevelopment, including modernizing the range and promoting the banquet hall as an event venue.
