Why we love this place
A 27-hole Rochester-area favorite where Jeff Sluman learned the game and Lee Trevino once came to play. We love Deerfield for its Pete Craig layout, its comeback story under new owners and a mix of nines that makes every visit to Brockport feel a little different.

About Deerfield Country Club
Deerfield Country Club began in the early 1960s as a nine-hole course called Sunny Crest, designed by Ed Benoit, just off Clarkson-Parma Town Line Road north of Route 104 in Brockport. Local amateur standout Bob Hill and architect Pete Craig later bought the property, added eighteen holes and renamed it Craig Hill Country Club, which became one of the most respected courses in the Rochester area and hosted a professional exhibition featuring Lee Trevino and Julius Boros. Future PGA Tour player Jeff Sluman developed his game there. Renamed Deerfield, the 27-hole club later slipped from its peak until Paul and Claudia Moriarty bought it around 2013 and undertook a full clubhouse renovation, rebuilt bunkers and added tees on the East nine, and began work on the North-South eighteen.
