Carolina Lakes in Sanford was designed by Roger Rulewich, then a senior designer for Robert Trent Jones Sr., and opened around 1981. The Hall family owned and ran the club from 1993, and on March 15, 2018 it was bought by Green Tee Associates, a group of residents. The par-70 course covers about 6,400 yards across 128 acres.
