Est. 1996 · Darl Johnston (with Bill Galloway)
Why we love this place
Rogues Roost East is a strong modern test near Oneida Lake. Darl Johnston and Bill Galloway built a course that demands a good drive, then rewards it with big greens. With a second 18 next door, it is a great spot for a golf day.

About Rogues Roost - East Course
Rogues Roost Golf & Country Club in Bridgeport, near the south shore of Oneida Lake northeast of Syracuse, offers two 18-hole public courses. The first, now known as the West Course, opened in 1966 to a design by Darl Johnston. Thirty years later, in 1996, the club opened its second 18, the East Course, which Johnston designed together with Bill Galloway. The two share a par of 71 but play quite differently: the older West is the more forgiving off the tee, while the East puts a premium on the tee shot and rewards accurate driving with large greens. With 36 holes on one property, Rogues Roost has room for leagues, outings and charity events such as the annual Coaches vs. Cancer tournament. For players visiting central New York, the East offers the stiffer challenge of the pair, and the two courses together make for an easy 36-hole day.
