Why we love this place
Cedar Knob is a big, honest Geoffrey Cornish layout framed by towering cedars, and it plays every inch of its 6,700 yards. Add a proud junior program and year-round access and you have one of north-central Connecticut's best public values.

About Cedar Knob Golf Course
Cedar Knob Golf Course opened in 1964 on a 144-acre farm along Billings Road in Somers, with a layout designed by Geoffrey Cornish; some golf directories date it to 1963. Tall cedars line many of the fairways, and the par-72 course stretches to about 6,734 yards from the back tees, with bentgrass greens and bluegrass fairways. A public daily-fee course that stays open year-round when weather allows, Cedar Knob became known for its well-established junior golf camp and for letting children play free when accompanied by an adult. The late Jeff Swanson served as its head professional for 25 years. In 2021 the Connecticut Section PGA chose Cedar Knob for its Walter Lowell Public Golf Course Distinguished Service Award, calling it a model public facility for its accessibility and the enjoyable experience it gives golfers.
